The Redwood Forest

Trees big enough to drive through

in between watching Emily's Volleyball via Jasmines YouTube channel

Started out the day making some bacon and eggs for breakfast

These trees are almost as wide as the truck

This is an old bridge to a town called Klamoth but a massive rain and snow melt caused the river to swell and washed away the bridge and the town. The town relocated upstream and built the new bridge you see to the right.

The first elk is inside the tourist centre and the real ones are not far away relaxing in a field, reminds me of the elk in Jasper at Bakers Lodge.

On the way to Fern Canyon...passed by Gold Bluffs Beach. It was a rainy day but we did walk the beach, at least for a bit

This is the hike at Fern Canyon,

The canyon floor was a river of water coming down so we did not walk up the canyon too far

Ferns going everywhere

On the tree trunks and limbs, on the canyon walls

I thought this was a cool but eerie picture...moss grows everywhere as well.

April 12th - After we got home yesterday afternoon, sitting inside our trailer, a huge gust of wind came up and our wrecked our awning a bit. So Ken fixed that this morning. We then left this camp site to go to our last camp site in the Redwoods and then we start closing the distance to get back home.

Before we went to our new campsite we stopped at The Trees of Mystery and had some fun.

This is a tree that has fallen thousands of years ago and then 2 trees grew over the fallen trunk, I'm at the root

Paul Bunyan and his blue ox greets you at the entrance and then there are many carvings and little interesting bit of info. I think the Sasquatsh likes Ken

walking through the swinging bridges at the top of the trees, this was fun

This is the Tree of Brotherhood...

...Lots of people get married here

Next was time to ride on the gondola, this is the view from the top

more ferns...the walk down had lots...lots...of carvings

The drive to our next campsite was a bit nicer and prettier, with the sun out today.

How is this for a campsite? backing onto the ocean

we could see our trailer from the pier

Ken wanted to ride our bikes on the beach

Sitting here in the evening, we can hear sea lions or seals making a lot of noise but its too dark to see them

you can see years of wear creating notches from fishing lines

The tide is rolling in behind us
