RVing our way down to Arizona

Our drive to Casa Grande begins...

Day 1 - Nov 3 driving south with little to no traffic on the road either direction, and then we have a small mountain range amidst the prairie

We got to the border crossing at Coutts and crossed the border with ease. The Border guard asked us a few questions looked at our truck from where he sat and let us drive on. We were extremely grateful for the whole day. No wind, good weather and we found a good rest area just south of Great Falls.

The beautiful Missouri River, close to our stop last night

Geez it looks like it was snowing to the west of us

But then there was sun and a rainbow.

Just another nice clean rest stop above

Day 3,  another day of driving

A bullet train to Salt Lake City, going much faster than us, But so is everyone going faster than us

Driving along canyons and all these crazy red rock formations. Better Pics tomorrow,

A couple daylight pictures of the rest area, ready for another day of driving.  Starting Day 2

We saw some great sites today but I'm not fast enough with the camera to capture everything. Like the cattle drive below...by the time I got the camera out and got the shot we were at the tail end of it.

We saw a couple bald eagles and big horned sheep.

Sleeping under a full moon tonight.

Salt Lake City traffic, just staying in our skinny lane

Getting close to our destination, in Zion

Sleeping beside the chickens tonight

This is our final destination tonight. First time at a Harvest Host

This is a Boutique Hotel called Zion Cliff Lodge

Day 4 - Finally staying in the area for a bit and doing some golfing

Just a couple more pics of our harvest host, This is just a block away from the Arizona Border.

Below are all pics of the Golf Course at Sand Hollow in a town called Hurricane. It was a beautiful day and we both played pretty good.

This is the Club house and hole #1

Love this course...

Tomorrow we are doing some site seeing so you will be spared anymore golf course pictures

This is where we got to park our trailer

This is the rock behind our trailer, thought it was kinda interesting

Day 5 - Getting to Henderson with a few stops along the way

A few pictures of the red rock canyons on the highway between St George and Mesquite, although they don't look to red in these pictures

Just on the other side of Mesquite, we pulled into a road side recreation area and went for a walk and came across these carvings in the side of the hills. These are some of the pictures we took. There are quite a few different carvings.

We have the Sphinx to the left, the Statue of Liberty c/w flame above,

Mount Rushmore, minus one head, even Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy, I think Linus was there at one point

We did a couple shorter hikes as well, because its 27 here today we couldn't stay out too long.

We thought driving through Salt Lake City was a bit stressful, Las Vegas was something else. Really had to pay attention to which lane you were in so you didn't veer off the wrong ramp,

I managed to get a few pics of back end of the strip.

We are now in Henderson.

Day 6 - Went from Henderson to Kingman, again with a few stops along the way.  We had a great day so there are a lot a pics

Driving to our first location which was a trail head for the Historic Railway trail, we got a glimpse of Lake Mead above,

to the right is our starting point and below the start of the trail

We came across these guys hanging around on the side of the cliffs

As we went further down the trail we came across this sign. Did not expect to be going to Hoover Dam today but we did.

This is at the Hive and Five after supper. The drummer is part of the band but the fellow singing is one of the patrons that walked in introducing himself "Hello my name is Johnny Cash" lol. He sang pretty good.

Tomorrow we make it to our final destination, no more driving for a while

As we rode along we saw this harbor on Lake Mead,

Then there are a few pics of the trail with the tunnels

Below is the same picture as the one to the left, below is zoomed in half way, The left one is maximum zoomed in. Glad I could get him looking down at us.

We rode the mile and then walked up some stairs and a spiral walkway and once up to the top we could walk across the Memorial Bridge and was able to get this pic of the dam

Above you can see the bridge past this crazy power grid.

Then we came into the City of Kingman where we are staying the night at another Harvest Host called Hive and Five Meadery, This is on the original Route 66.

Ken has a tambourine, they handed them out along with mics and maraca shakers

The fellow with his back to us is the guitar player and the singer.  The lady singing is another patron who got up to sing some jazz.

Interesting evening....a lot of fun/.

Day 7 - Today we drove a couple hours to Wickenburg where we are golfing and spending the night at another Harvest Host which is the golf course. Wickenburg is definitely a western town, all the restaurants are saloon type bars and diners,

I look exhausted. It was over 30 degrees and we were both a bit sluggish playing today. But Ken reminded me I birdied this hole

Just a few pics of the course today, definitely a dessert course.
